Sami El Hadery, CIO, YFood

Sami is based in Asia and a seasoned entrepreneur with a strong track record in product development and emerging technologies in Travel, Entertainment and Food & Drink. Over the years, he has successfully launched (and exited) multiple businesses and established a vast network in Asia.

Sami has spent the last 20 years building businesses and one of his most notable achievements was founding Rokki, an in-flight entertainment, shopping, and Wi-Fi platform that secured a USD50M contract with AirAsia. He later spearheaded a joint venture with AirAsia, forming the ticketing platform AirAsiaRedTix, which sold over RM100M in tickets and ticketed some of the largest festivals, concerts and sporting events in Asia such as Rugby world cup, Ultra music festival and Guns N Roses to name a few.

One of his key strategies has been to build cost-effective tech and product teams in Indonesia. This has allowed him to build success quickly in launching apps: for example, he launched an on-demand drinks delivery app in Malaysia that quickly gained popularity and became one of the most downloaded drinks apps in the country.

In addition to the drinks app, Sami has direct experience in building Food & Drink businesses, for example, he is the owner of Drop Coffee, a coffee kiosk franchise in Malaysia.

If you are interested in getting feedback on your product, on how to build a low cost product and tech team in Asia or looking to expand your business to Asia, Sami would be able to help you on your journey. In fact, we’re actively looking for epic companies looking to launch and grow their businesses in Asia.
